Narges Abyar selected as jury member of Pune filmfest in India

Iranian director Narges Abyar is to judge at Pune International Film Festival in India.

Iranian director Narges Abyar has been selected to judge at the 15th edition of Pune International Film Festival in India.

The award-winning director is to judge the works sent to the competition section, alongside other jury members.

Abyar has won awards from many national and international film festivals including the Best Director award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

Born in Tehran, Narges Abyar studied Persian Literature and received her B.A. in this field.

She has penned some 30 story and fiction books for children, young adults and adults. She has also made several short and feature-length documentaries and one fiction.

The Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) was established in 2002. The aim was to attract the best in celluloid to the city.

Today PIFF is an important date on the calendar for filmmakers not only across Pune or India, but the globe.
